We know that times are tough out there...

The cost of living is rising and the risk of a recession has many people on edge.

Our kōura financial resilience survey (link to page) found that in this economic environment more people were feeling stressed about their finances, and many people had difficulty remaining invested in markets during this  time. 

If you are experiencing hardship and stress due to the current financial environment, we have put together a list of resources that you can go to for help.

  1. Citizens Advice Bureau: Provides free and confidential advice on financial matters, including budgeting. Website

  2. Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ): Offers financial support programs and advice, including budgeting assistance. Website

  3. New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services: Provides access to trained budget advisors for financial planning and debt management. Website

  4. MoneyTalks: Offers free and confidential financial helpline services, including budgeting support. Website

  5. Sorted: Provides online tools, resources, and budgeting calculators to help individuals manage their finances. Website

  6. Christians Against Poverty (CAP): Offers debt counseling and budgeting services for individuals facing financial challenges. Website

  7. Family Budgeting Services: Provides budgeting advice, education, and workshops to help individuals manage their money effectively. Website

  8. Financial Capability & Budgeting Services (FCBS): Offers budgeting assistance, financial literacy programs, and debt management support. Website

  9. Stepping UP: Provides free computer and internet training courses, including budgeting and financial management modules. Website

  10. NZCU Credit Union: Offers financial education and budgeting advice to its members, helping them achieve their financial goals. Website
